Who amongst us hasn't fallen prey to the alluring call of the bangs? Fringe seems to so fabulously frame the faces of Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks and Reese Witherspoon, just to name a few. Whether or not bangs turned out to be flattering or not for us, it can take years-- and several frustrating months experimenting with clips and pins-- to grow out.

Just as we think we'll never fall victim to the timeless siren call of the bangs, another celebrity appears with a new, modish twist on an old classic (Nicole Richie never looked so good as she does with this sideswept bang'ed bob), and we find ourselves tempted to trim once again.

But wait! There is an exciting, beautiful alternative to taking the bang plunge. "Clip-in bangs are a really easy, fun way to play with bangs," says YGallery Co-Owner Yoni Kreger.

Yoni says that clip-in bangs work best on single colored hair, rather than hair with highlights. For Kate's SoHo photo shoot, Yoni  gave Kate a vibrant, rich brunette color with subtle violet undertones.

Of course, these intensely colored clip-in bangs were a playfully artful look just for this photo shoot. For less wildly patterned faux-bangs, Yoni is a genius at creating custom, clip-in bangs for clients. With proper care, "clip-in bangs can last for years," says Yoni. "Possibly no other accessory you can have can so radically change your look from day-to-day like custom, clip-in bangs."

We want to hear from you. Have you ever cut your bangs and regretted it? What was the worst part about growing out bangs for you? If you could have bangs for a day, would you give it a try?

Props to Mia Monee Photography for the Kate Welch photos, and thanks to girlstalkinsmack.com for the celeb pics.
